St. Matthew youth are confirmed by the Bishop of Raleigh, typically in the 10th grade, following two years of Confirmation Preparation in our Faith Formation program. Preparation includes weekend Mass, religious instructions that provides the content of our Catholic faith, community service, large group youth sessions to foster a sense of community, and a preparatory Confirmation Retreat.
Adult Confirmation is also possible and takes place on the Diocesan level during the Easter season around the Feast of Pentecost. This is for adults who were baptized Catholic and received First Eucharist, but have not been confirmed.
